School Dinner Money Increase

The cost of school meals, as suggested by Birmingham City Council is increasing by 10p to £2.30 per day or £11.50 per week from Tuesday 4th September 2018. Can we please remind all parents that dinner money must be paid every week and in advance. If children wish to change from dinners to sandwiches or vice versa you need to get in touch with the school office and give two weeks notice. This rule also applies to children who are entitled to free school meals. If your child is going from Year 2 into Year 3 then you will need to start paying for their school dinners unless they are entitled to free school meals or if you wish to have a packed lunch. This is because they will no longer be entitled to a meal under the Universal Free Meal Scheme.

End of Summer Term 2018

Ofsted Inspection Report July 2018

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills.  It reports directly to Parliament and is both independent and impartial.

By law it must inspect schools with the aim of providing information to parents, to promote improvement and to hold schools to account.

We are extremely pleased and delighted to confirm that following the two day inspection Ofsted inspectors judged Marsh Hill Overall Effectiveness as GOOD. The inspectors observed over 30 lessons, scrutinised safeguarding procedures, looked through pupils’ books, talked to and heard pupils read, met with all senior leaders, pastoral staff, governors and to many of you and made the following judgements:

Effectiveness of Leadership and Management: GOOD

Quality of Teaching, Learning and Assessment: GOOD

Personal Development and Welfare*: OUTSTANDING and Behaviour*: GOOD

Outcomes for Pupils: GOOD

Early Years Provision: OUTSTANDING.
