Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education
Intent
At Marsh Hill Primary, we are dedicated to providing a well-rounded education that prepares our students not only academically but also personally and socially. Our Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education is a core component of our curriculum. The intent of our PSHE programme is to equip our pupils with essential skills and knowledge, helping them to develop resilience, empathy, and moral integrity. We aim to empower our students to become thoughtful and responsible members of society.
Implementation
Implementation of our PSHE curriculum is thoughtfully designed to integrate seamlessly with all aspects of school life. Utilising the Jigsaw programme, a unique, progressive and effective approach to PSHE, Marsh Hill Primary ensures that every child receives age-appropriate content that supports their personal development in a safe and nurturing environment. Our curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including but not limited to, relationships, health, and the wider world, thereby fostering a well-informed and inclusive student community.
Impact
The impact of our PSHE education is profound and long-lasting. Students at Marsh Hill Primary demonstrate increased confidence, improved social skills, and a better understanding of their personal and social responsibilities. Through our dedicated approach to PSHE, we see our students grow into young individuals who can make thoughtful decisions, manage their mental health, and contribute positively to society. We are committed to continually enhancing our PSHE programme to meet the evolving needs of our students and the wider community.
Pupils in EYFS also work towards being an "Independent Individual" and "Fantastic Friend" through circle times and child-initiated activities in the continuous provision.
