Student Squad

Each year, we elect two pupils from each class to represent our voice on the School Council. The Council’s aim is provide us with an opportunity to participate in a democratic society and to support our school community. We represent the diversity in our school and treat everyone with respect and tolerance.

2024 - 2025

Our focus for this academic year is a combination of school and community support.

Our Student Squad were part of the preparations for our annual  M Factor (Marsh Hill's Got Talent), which was a huge success with pupils and staff alike. All children were able to enter the talent competition and had to pay £1 to enter. This contributed to the fundraising effort.

Our annual focus on anti-bullying was led by both our Anti-bullying Ambassadors and our Student Squad. It is a whole-school initiative with positive outcomes, which our pupils are extremely proud of and proactively advocate.

We held a charity event for MacMillan in the form of a cake sale - another successful event!

We also held our annual Christmas Fayre. Student Squad members oversaw the organisations of class stalls and product display.

Past Projects

Over recent years, we have also been able to contribute to the following projects:

  • improving the parking around our local area
  • raising funds for the John Taylor Hospice
  • supporting Children In Need and Comic Relief
  • community support – Blankets for the homeless (Crisp Packet Project)
  • Anti-bullying
  • further community support – Tin Mountain (supporting our local foodbanks)

We also discuss other important matters which can be raised by individual councillors or on behalf of pupils in their class.  We maintain Minutes of our meetings for anyone to read as a public document and complete a financial report to show our contribution to the wider community.
