Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to Marsh Hill Primary School

Welcome to our school's website!  My name is John Cusack and I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Marsh Hill Primary School. We are a diverse community with learners from many different cultures and backgrounds which are valued and respected.  We emphasise excellent progress whatever each individual's starting point or circumstances.

At our school we aim to provide a safe, caring environment where staff, governors and parents work in partnership to provide high standards of education for all our children. Education is a partnership between home and school. Children learn best when school and home work together for their benefit. When your child starts school, it is not where your job ends and ours begins. It is where our job begins and yours continues. We place a great deal of emphasis on our partnership with parents and there will be many opportunities with you to make a significant contribution to the life of our school.

We are fully committed to doing the best for our children (from 4 to 11 years) and they are held as paramount in all our decisions. We are an effective team here and it is through that team pulling in the same direction that we will continue to create a place where exceptional education can be witnessed first hand and where respect is central to all activities. We work in close partnership with the other primary schools in the area and have good links with Stockland Green School as well as North Birmingham Academy.

The structure of our year groups is as follows:

  • Early Years Foundation Stage (Reception classes: Rainbows and Sunshines)
  • Phase 1 (Years 1, 2 and 3)
  • Phase 2 (Years 4, 5 and 6)

I hope you will find this website both interesting and informative as it should provide you with a flavour about our school community. We never fail to receive comments about how warm and inclusive the school feels, how well behaved and welcoming our children are and how easy it is to see the excellent progress that our children are making.  If you are a parent that is contemplating our school for your child, or you are thinking of applying for an advertised role, we would be happy to arrange for you to have a look around - just contact our friendly school office team.  I believe if you were to do so that you would see a happy school with very hard working and committed staff; children who are pleased to be part of our on going work together and a community well supported by governors and parents/carers alike.
