The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per annum to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
“I want every child to be able to aim for the stars, and to be supported in reaching them.”(David Laws, Education Minister, 2012)
Since September 2013 each school has received funding called Sports Premium.
At Marsh Hill we really value the importance of Sport and PE and we are committed to offer our children the chance to really get involved in a variety of different sports and games in a competitive environment and to hopefully foster a love of sport that remains with them for life and opens up opportunities beyond what we offer at school.
We were thus delighted in when in September 2015 and 2016 we were awarded the Sainsbury’s School Games ‘Bronze’ Award.
